Parenting With Positive Discipline at Oak Hill

Oak Hill is a school for children with special needs such as dylexia, ADD or ADHD. Parenting a child with special needs can be be particularly challenging. The child may feel different, refuse to listen or display speficic behaviours that can be tricky for parents to deal with.

Positive Discipline as a method, where parents are firm and kind at the same time, can be particularly effective when it comes to parenting or caring for a child with special needs. Izumi Takase was invited to do a 90 minute presentation that included practical examples and brief exercises for the parents to try for themselves.
